Day 25
Chem 122-Your next test is on wednesday of next week. It will cover Ch 18. You will receive a study guide for tuesday's test and we will go over the solutions to yesterday's questions. We will hopefully be able to watch the entire video on the Haber Process. We have completed the unit on ch 18 so we will start group review problems today. We will complete thes on tuesday. On monday we will start the next unit which is Ch 19.
Chem 112-Quiz on molecular formulas today. This includes the list on the back of the green sheet, the diatomics and the polyatomic molecules(phosphorus, sulfur and ozone). We will do a big homework check and start a pair assignment. I will go over 5 questions from each worksheet. Assigned questions: Sheet 7 and sheet 8 from the first handout for this chapter. Please see below for helpful hints with Properties Assignment which is due tomorrow. Unit2TestReviewchem11.PDF
Chemistry 121-Today you will do a pair assignment on enthalpy and heat loss or gain from the booklets. You will receive a handout that has problems for this unit on it, as well as the table that I mentioned last class.
SPECIAL NOTE TO CHEM 112 students:you will find that is good to use the formula to help decide if something is acid(hydrogen on front), Base( hydroxide on end, ammonia or ammonium), ionic(metal attached to nonmetal) or molecular(nonmetals attached to each other).
(l) means liquid --> like water or hydrogen peroxide
(g) means gas --> like propane or ammonia
(aq) means aqueous solution (i.e. dissolved in water) --> like hdrochloric acid or hyponitrous acid
PLEASE NOTE CHEM 112 Students-->One of your classmates emailed the following questions regarding the assignment. Please read the document below with the answers to the excellent questions that the person asked.
